Applications of a transformer analogue computer

J R Barker · British Journal of Applied Physics · 1956

The Blackburn analyser is a versatile transformer analogue computer well known among electrical-power engineers as an a.c. network analyser. This paper shows that it can be used to solve many algebraic problems involving real or complex numbers. Among these are the extraction of the latent roots of matrices, the location of the zeros of polynomials, and the solution of linear and non-linear simultaneous equations.
