ON THE DYNAMICS OF COUPLED JOSEPHSON JUNCTION CIRCUITS

Lutz Finger · International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos · 1996

In this paper, we consider coupled Josephson junction circuits, so-called SQUIDs. We investigate by means of analytical and numerical methods the nonlinear behaviour of two circuits, the ideal and a real model. We show that the solutions for SQUID systems occur in a cylindrical state space which make methods of the Nonlinear Dynamics applicable and lead to a general description for these systems. Moreover, methods of the Nonlinear Dynamics extend the static characteristics. Finally the behaviour is analysed with methods of the Stochastic Dynamics under influence of thermal noise and several occurring phenomena are explained.
