New multi-dimensional rotationally invariant ring-TCM codes for 4-PSK on fading channels

This paper describes a new rotationally invariant multidimensional ring-trellis coded modulation (TCM) code for 4-PSK based on the design criteria of fading channel. The codes were found using an efficient search algorithm. The proposed codes increases the diversity of the system. Computer simulation is used to evaluate the performance of these codes. The simulation is performed for a Rician and a Rayleigh fading channel. The simulation results shows that the system performance improves with multidimensional ring-TCM codes. (6 pages)
