A hybrid approach to computer-aided diagnosis in electromyography

The hybrid system SHADE, composed both of a logic module and a connectionist module, is briefly described in this paper. This system is used for computer-aided diagnosis in electromyography. The benefits of combining neural networks and classical expert systems are first presented. SHADE'S field of application and its architecture are then described. Trends of the hybrid approach in electromyography are also commented on.
