Video Image Mosaicing for Non-planar Grove Scene

SangHoon Han, Thomas Francis Burks · 2007 Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 17-20, 2007 · 2007

This study is for image mosaicing which can be applied to ground-based scouting system. To align successive images, the corresponding points are matched. Most literatures dealing with image mosaicing have assumed that the scene is a plane. When the motion of camera is rotational, this assumption is valid and mosaicing is achieved. On the contrary, when a non-planar object is close enough to the camera with translation motion, edges of the current image are unlikely to match with that of the previous image. Thus feature points should be tracked so that they can be matched.
