High frequency magnetoresistance and Hall coefficient of a semiconducting material in the presence of electron - electron collisions

Soumya Roy · Proceedings of the Physical Society · 1965

The Boltzmann transport equation including an additional term for relaxation through e-e collisions has been solved for a high frequency electric field and a constant magnetic field perpendicular to it. The real and imaginary parts of the changes of resistance and Hall coefficient with magnetic field are obtained as functions of the ratio of the mean time of collisions of electrons with lattice vibrations or impurity ions to the time of relaxation through e-e collisions alone. The changes of the imaginary parts should provide a more sensitive method for investigation of the e-e collision process.
