GSM + DECT = comms

It makes sense to develop a system that is relatively inexpensive, uses existing standards and technology and enables a handset to be shared amongst different households. This is possible with a DECT system piggy-backed onto a GSM/CDMA network and installed at roof height. A combined GSM/DECT approach could improve the infrastructure of the parts of the world that do not have any telecommunications infrastructure.
