Applications of ergodic chains to problem solving
Steve C. Perdikaris · International Journal of Mathematical Education in Science and Technology · 1993
We apply an ergodic Markov chain process on problem solving and through this we succeed in obtaining measures of teachers’ variability, which is defined in terms of the cognitive level of the problems given for solution, and students’ difficulties in the problem solving process. A classroom experiment is presented that illustrates our results.
