An Object-Oriented Solution to an Interdisciplinary 3D Visualization Tool

Craig Sinclair, Todd Little, M. Ahsan Rahi · SPE Computer Applications · 1995

Summary This paper describes the design and implementation of an interdisciplinary 3D visualization tool. An object-oriented approach was used to overcome deficiencies within third-party graphical tool kits and incompatible data formats. It also facilitated multidisciplinary visualization by providing a coherent framework for combining drawing technologies from the different disciplines. The tool kit was designed to be extensible and supportable because it was expected to continually evolve to meet new market requirements.
