Filters for drift reduction in frequency scalablevideo coding schemes

New quarter pixel, block based, phase shifting filters are presented for drift reduction in a frequency scalable video coding architecture. Simulation results show that the performance of the new filters is significantly better than that of bilinear filters. Their performance approaches that of the ‘minimum drift’ solution with a reduced implementation complexity.
