Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum: on the use of puzzles in computer science instruction

We discuss a new genre of computer science problem exercise, the partially completed code which requires the student to puzzle out omitted values. The purpose of this is to add variety to what risks being a dull collection of repetitive drills, and to stimulate sustained interest on core programming courses.
