The canonical signed digit code structure for FIR filters

R. Seegal · IEEE Transactions on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing · 1980

This correspondence introduces a new computational structure for FIR filters that combines the advantages of canonical signed digit code (CSC) with the efficiency of the partial sum organization. An example shows how microcode for a microprocessor implementation may be developed directly from the filter coefficients.
