Elementary Statistics using JMP

Naguib Lallmahomed · Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series A (Statistics in Society) · 2008

This book is targeted at people who are new to JMP, to statistics or to both. The book is designed for readers both in industry and in the academic world. Although this book is not designed to replace a formal statistics text in a course, it could be used as a companion text. Sandra Schlotzhauer says that she has ‘focused on the fact that most readers won’t want to learn Statistics (or JMP) as an end in itself, but as a way to solve their research problem or simply do their job. That approach brings a different style of writing to the book than seen in many texts. The overall intent is to fill a gap between Statistics texts and JMP documentation.’ The book will benefit JMP users as it is a blend of statistics and software information. The main feature of the book is the step-by-step approach and the large number of screen captures to help readers to follow along and it is based on the author’s experiences in using JMP in her consulting work and in teaching JMP; the book focuses on the most used features for basic statistical analysis.
