Mars Relay Operations: Application of the CCSDS Proximity-1 Space Data Link Protocol at Mars

This paper will address in detail Proximity-1 within the context of the Mars Network End-to-End Information System (EEIS) including the layered protocol stack, and the protocol cross-support operability features, which will be available for operational use on the next wave of Mars missions planned between 2005 and 2009.
