Modern colliery surveying
M. N. Nielsen · Australian Surveyor · 1948
The many and varied interesting professional careers of members of the Institution of Surveyors have always intrigued me. I have found that the need for professional men has greatly increased with the modern scientific approach to everyday problems. So we find that surveyors are now in greater demand, especially in the industrial field of this country. Maybe it is due to the raising of our educational standard, which elevates with it the technical standard. Members of our profession, through their wide studies, are needed to supply these gaps in the industrial field. Through the foresight of our past examination committees, surveyors have a sound basis for any branch of surveying that they may care to pursue.
