Concept frequency in political text: An application of a total indexing method of automated content analysis
Arthur R. Carlson · Systems Research and Behavioral Science · 1967
A computer routine, originally designed for information retrieval in natural language, is used to analyze the content of a data base of political text. In the latter sections of the paper there is a rather informal discussion of some substantive relations generated by the application of the method to the particular data base used. The uniqueness of the method lies in the fact that the data base is totally indexed. Some pessimism is expressed concerning the possibility of devising a deterministic method of content analysis.
