Bandwidth estimation with RTS/CTS mechanism for IEEE 802.11 adhoc networks using cross layer design

In this paper, we propose a new non-intrusive bandwidth estimation technique for IEEE 802.11 in ad hoc networks using cross layer design. This technique is based on RTS/CTS mechanism and it doesn't generate addition traffic to perform the bandwidth estimation. Initially, it estimates the available bandwidth per node and then evaluates the link's available bandwidth in IEEE 802.11 which plays a vital role in admission control.
