A pressure wave propagation method using pulse ultrasonic wave was used to investigate the charge behavior in an organic photoconductor (OPC) used as an electrophotographic receptor. Pulse ultrasonic waves were generated by applying a high-voltage pulse to a piezoelectric transducer of LiNbO3. The charge distributions in OPC were measured under the conditions of dc voltage application and light exposure. The behavior of the charges in OPC was clearly observed.
