On the Entangled Problems of Selection and Conceptual Organization1

Naroll's Interval Sift method and D'Andrade's Matched Pair method are re‐examined. It is suggested that these present solutions to the Tylor‐Galton problem are better viewed as discussions. The intertwined problems of selection of data, data patterning, and conceptual organization are discussed.
