An Approach for Finding Good Anchor Nodes in Ontologies in the Semantic Web
John Wu, Letha Hughes Etzkorn · 2014
Mapping two (or more) ontologies to each other has become an important topic in the semantic web. Knowing which are the best nodes to start the mapping process (these are called anchor nodes) can make the ontology mapping much easier in many cases. Traditionally, selecting anchor nodes has been done by humans. In the semantic web, however, there is a need to map ontologies on the fly. To our knowledge, how to automatically identify anchor nodes for on the fly ontology mapping has never been addressed before. This research suggests an innovative idea for determining anchor nodes automatically, and describes a preliminary case study illustrating this idea.
