Abstract A study was made on the decomposition of PCB’s in a radio-frequency glow discharge plasma of hydrogen. PCB’s were completely decomposed in a plasma of hydrogen at 1 Torr. Major gaseous products were ethane, isgbutane, and several higher hydrocarbons were recognized as minor products. Almost all of chlorine in PCB’s was converted to hydrogen chloride.
