Membership Function Optimisation of a Fuzzy Logic Controller for a Non-Linear System

This work is an ongoing investigation of attitude control ( rad rotation) as well as vibration suppression of a very flexible structure. A nominal fuzzy logic controller was designed and was used as a basis for design of an optimised fuzzy controller. Optimisation algorithm and procedure are explained. Results show a clear improvement in performance of the controller in comparison to that of the nominal system.
