A stable data systems staff is something that most systems managers hope for, dream about and in some cases even pray for. They have good reason to be so interested in stability, for it is an important virtue that few systems staffs have attained to date. For stability means time to accomplish the numerous stages of development a staff must go through to become a knowledgeable and productive group. Time for all the necessary hardware and software training. Time to become familiar with the company's objectives and purpose. Most importantly, there is time to work with this knowledge and information and thereby gain experience in its application.
