Novel frequency arithmetic unit

This paper introduces a generalized arithmetic frequency unit that performs arithmetical operations for two input frequencies (addition and subtraction). The mathematical operation are carried out by digital-to-analogue converters (DACs), rather than voltage-to-frequency converters (VFCa), in such a way as to synchronize the output frequency with the two input frequencies.
