Multifunctional digital instruments

J G Rogers · Physics Education · 1977

The possible use of such instruments in schools is propounded. The additional cost over a scaler-timer for example is easily compensated by the fact that these instruments perform many more functions such as timer, scaler, counting, ratemeter and frequency meter. The large digital readout is especially useful. The various functions are examined and some experimental applications are given. The additional facilities of digital voltmetering and digital phasemetering, which are available as extras to plug in, are also described.
