THE PERFORMANCE OF HELLMAN'S TIME-MEMORY TRADE-OFF AGAINST SOME ROTOR CIPHERS

The performance of a cryptanalytic scheme recently proposed by Hellman is assessed against two rotor ciphers, the Hebern and a Hebern with a more complex rotor advancement. Differences between the theoretical and actual performance of the scheme are discussed.
