Abstract Guidelines for the evaluation existing web pages exist in abundance. Weanalyzed several guidelines from different cultures and found substantialdifferences. A questionnaire was developed to investigate, whether usersfrom different cultures apply different factors for the evaluation of webpages. The questionnaire was used in a study with over 350 internet usersmainly from Peru and Germany. Several relevant differences between the twocultures were identified. 1 Quality of Web Pages The low quality of many web pages in widely discussed. Quality mayconcern interaction as well as content or presentation. A helpful frameworkfor discussing the quality of information products is provided by Huang et al. (1999). It is shown in table 1.
