The high-temperature Gruneisen constant of cubic lattices

An explicit formula is derived for the Gruneisen parameter γ∞ of a cubic crystal. The result which follows simply from a theorem of matrix algebra is illustrated by application to the 6–12 nearest-neighbor model of solid neon.
