A teacher/learner
William S. Curran · 1982
The present paper is a report on a program which was originally developed as a teaching device for courses in Artificial Intelligence, but which developed into a program which is an expert on the topic of Computer Science. As such it is used in the dual capacity of instruction in A/I and in introductory courses in Computer Science. The approach is somewhat unusual, for it is not merely an assemblage of data about computer science. It is closer in behavior to a human expert who engages in a dialog with a student and who not only supplies answers to computer science questions, but who can also gain new information from the student.
