A programmable decoder for Reed-Solomon codes

A. Katsaros · International Journal of Electronics · 1988

A programmable decoder for Reed-Solomon codes is described. The decoder is constructed using the Am2900 family of bit-slice elements and it is designed to perform error-correction erasure-filling decoding. The decoding rates obtained, lie in the range of 87 to 22 kilobits per second depending on the code and the error-erasure pattern encountered
