Framework Design of Secure Sensor Sharing

Ruidong Li, Masugi Inoue · 2011

New generation network (NWGN) is the future network designed from clean-slate in Japan, which is composed of core optical networks and regional networks. In NWGN, a prospective regional network called NerveNet is currently under research, which accommodates ubiquitous sensors. To promote sensor business thrive, the reliable and accountable information collection, processing and provision over NWGN are challenging and fundamental issues. As the first step towards reliable information provision, we investigate privacy preserving sensor information collection for future individual related sensor applications. The privacy requirement drives the logic separation between sensor networks (SNs) and communication platform in the design of NerveNet architecture. To enable sensors be shared by sensor service providers (SSPs) and reliably interact with sensor users (SUs), we design secure sensor sharing framework (S3F), where CP-ABE is utilized for flexible assertion authorization issuing. In S3F, SSPs that share the sensors owned by various SOs can search the preferred sensors and provide the assertion authorization to SUs.
