Introduction.-Inherent in planetary photography is the problem of recording fine detail.Fine markings on planetary surfaces visible to the eye are lost on photographs because of blurring of the image due to atmospheric seeing, and further losses are due to limitations in the photographic process itself.This paper discusses some features of the multiple image printing method for making planetary photographs, which offers one way of minimizing these losses.The superpositioning technique was initially ex-
