High-resolution direction-of-arrival estimation based on matching-calibration strategy

A high-resolution direction-of-arrival estimation method based on matching-calibration strategy is proposed, which is motivated by the fact that the Original matching pursuit (OMP)-type algorithms for source localisation, except for being affected by noise, also suffer from the affection of inter-atom interference of overcomplete basis. The proposed method comprises three steps: a first step for constructing the sparse pattern by the sparse representation of array covariance vectors, a second step for rough estimation using general OMP-type algorithm in the noise scenario, and a third step for accurate estimation throughout a matching-calibration strategy. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of our method and show a satisfactory performance.
