High frequency active filters utilising current feedback amplifiers

The use of current feedback amplifiers as open loop integrators for high frequency active filters was shown to be viable. A KHN biquad based on open loop CFA integrators was demonstrated using commercially available CFA devices. The evaluation circuit operated at frequencies of up to 9MHz, limited by the performance of the CFAs used. Development of the open loop CFA for fully integrated active filters was considered, including provision for on-chip tuning. (6 pages)
