Utilising linked open data in applications

Over the past years, the Linked Data principles have successfully been applied, resulting in the Linked Open Data (LOD) cloud with over 200 datasets containing 26 billion statements, connected by 400 million typed links. Publishing into the LOD cloud is certainly a challenge, however various tutorials and guidelines exist.
