Application-specific visual quality assessment

Visual quality assessment (VQA) has been widely investigated during the past decades. With emerging visual content from various specific multimedia applications, there have been many new VQA metrics proposed in the research community. This paper introduces different types of VQA metrics for specific applications and then describes the future trends of VQA for specific applications. It intends to provide some ideas on the potential research topics of VQA for the research community.
