On the calibration of digital measurements

Stanley Salmons · Journal of Physics E Scientific Instruments · 1971

In some measurement systems involving analogue-to-digital conversion it is normal to minimize the error due to quantization by adjusting the system gain to give readings as near as possible to full scale. A simple graphical method is described for determining the most economical way of calibrating this type of measurement.
