Performance of physical wireless parameter conversion sensor network (PHY-C SN) using frequency hopping

Shunta Sakai, Takeo Fujii · 2014

Most of the existing wireless sensor network using packetized transmission system needs a lot of gathering time with many sensors. To overcome these limitations, physical wireless parameter conversion sensor network (PHY-C SN) has been proposed. The method with PHY-C SN can gather sensing information from multiple sensors faster than conventional packetized methods, because the sensing data is directly converted to the subcarrier number of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal. However, the number of simultaneous transmitting sensors is limited because the time slots are used for identification of each sensor. In this paper, the performance of data gathering method with PHY-C SN using frequency hopping (FH) is evaluated by computer simulations. Simulated results show that the method using the FH pattern of PN sequence achieves better information gathering performance than that using the random sequence.
