Neuron modelling for in-the-loop training

A method for in-the-loop training of a programmable neural network is proposed whereby each of the neuron activation functions of the actual physical realisation is measured and then modelled in terms of a small neural network. The method is valid for programmable neural networks with two or less hidden layers of neurons.
