FROM SLA to SLS up to QoS Control: The CADENUS framework
Olivier Dugeon, Ada Diaconescu · 2003
This paper presents a novel approach to setting-up Quality of Service inside and across IP networks. The solution proposes to let the end user select a service with a given or chosen QoS. We introduce the notion of Mediation component as a unique selling point for all the transaction, which occurs during the service invocation process. Each Mediation component takes a particular role essentially devoted to admission control, contract translation and configuration. Ranging from the well know Service Level Agreement to Service Level Specification, the Resource Mediator component finally performs the QoS set-up of all impacted network nodes. To prove the feasibility of such an approach, we examine the CADENUS architecture before describing in details the Resource Mediator and the Network Controller.
