Integrating small computers within a conversational time-sharing environment

Frank J. Mabry, Allan H. Levy · 1972

Software is described which will facilitate the use of a general time-sharing system by mini-computers. A user-written communication appendage task will edit input and output streams between the general time-sharing system and the specific mini-computer. This will enable a fuller utilization by the mini-computer of its native ability, including an "intelligent" reaction to central time-sharing commands. The software will enable mini-computers to make wide use of previously written conversational programs executing on the central system.
