Impact of entropic coding on the time delays associated with time-encoded speech (TES) systems

R.A. King, J. Holbeche · Electronics Letters · 1981

Transmission delays in time-encoded speech systems may be reduced an order of magnitude by using suboptimum bounded entropic codes in place of constant-length codes. Experimental evidence of this is offered.
