Co-Square Roots of Matrices and Their Application to Boundary Value Differential Matrix Problems

Lucas Jódar, E. Navarro · SIAM Journal on Matrix Analysis and Applications · 1989

In this paper the concept of the co-square root of a complex matrix is introduced. Methods for obtaining co-square roots of matrices are presented. This concept is applied to solving boundary value problems related to the matrix differential equation $X^{(2)} (t) - AX(t) = 0$.
