A Short Proof of the Rectilinear Art Gallery Theorem

A short proof is given for the theorem that in a rectilinear, simply connected art gallery, $[ n /4 ]$ watchmen are sufficient, where n is the number of the corners, in order for at least one to have a view of each internal point.
