Curve stripping and nonlinear fitting of polyexponential functions to data using a microcomputer
Les Kirkup, J. Sutherland · Computers in Physics · 1988
An iterative curve stripping and optimization program for fitting functions consisting of a sum of exponential terms to data using a microcomputer is presented. Examples of program output are given for biexponential and triexponential functions fitted to simulated data with Gaussian noise added. Advantages of using a microcomputer as an alternative to mini- and mainframe computers for such a purpose are identified. Application of the program to the determination of excited-state lifetime measurements in sintered cadmium sulfide is described.
