Biometrics: no silver bullets

With the onslaught of identity theft, the case for biometrics is gaining momentum. But they stil have not gained significant commercial success. Implementations are still rare and the password is still the identification factor of choice. This article traces the progression of biometrics and considers if it has a mainstream future.
