Theory of Dephasing in Semiconductor Optics

Abstract Inelastic scattering processes as well as static disorder lead to dephasing in semiconductors. The latter case is investigated here by calculating the signal in a degenerate four‐wave mixing experiment. Special emphasis is given to excitonic dephasing due to quantum well roughness.
