Abstract One of the basic problems in the Spread Spectrum Multiple Access (SSMA) system is interchannel interference noise. Noise is an important determinant of the possible number of system characteristics of the SSMA system using White Gaussian Noise (WGN) for the spreading signal. The ratio of signal to interchannel interference noise (S/Ni) obtained herein can be the theoretical upper bound for direct sequence SSMA systems. This paper also proposes a new SSMA system in which the delayed WGN and the spread information signal are transmitted together. The system has no synchronizing problem between spreading and despreading signals. Therefore, receiver structure can be very simple.
