Building without drawings: Automason Ver 1.0
Mike Silver · Architectural Design · 2006
Abstract For the most part, technological innovation in architecture has been narrowly focused around the intersection of computer‐aided design (CAD) and computer‐aided manufacture (CAM). Here, Mike Silver urges architects to take up the gauntlet and develop software tools that can change the way buildings are made. He describes his own investigations into projects that employ a cellular automaton (CA) program for conveying design data directly on site. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
