Mathematical Analysis of Glottal Waveforms
A. Vezza · The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America · 1964
An ensemble of glottal waveforms is represented by a weighted linear sum of exponential orthonormal functions, which may be written in closed form fi(t)=ΣkAikexp(skt). The glottal waveforms are obtained by means of inverse filtering. The signal ensemble consists of glottal waveforms of several speakers uttering a number of American English vowels. Suitable complex frequencies sk are chosen and an IBM-1620 computer is used to calculate the coefficients Aik for each member of the signal ensemble.
